Ɗan wasan mai shekara 37 da ke buga wa ƙungiyar Barcelona, wanda ya zura kwallaye 89 wa ƙasarsa, ya kasa taimaka mata zuwa gasar kofin duniya bayan da suka yi rashin nasara a hannun Sweden da ci 3-2 a birnin Stockholm ranar Talata, a wasan karshe na neman gurbin xuwa gasar.

Lewandowski, wanda ya lashe gasar Bundesliga ta Jamus har sau goma - biyu da Borussia Dortmund sai kuma guda takwas a jere da Bayern Munich, kafin cin La Liga biyu da Barca - za a iya cewa ya buga wasansa na karshe a matakin ƙasa.

Wannan shi ne karo na biyu a jere na tashin farashin, kuma hukumar ta ce babban dalilin shi ne ƙarin farashin makamashi da ke da alaƙa da rikici a Gabas ta Tsakiya.

A cikin ƙididdigar, rukunin man gyaɗa shi ne farashinsa ya fi ɗagawa inda shi ne mafi tsananin tashin farashi, wato kashi 5.1 cikin ɗari fiye da Fabrairu, yayin da farashin man ja ya kai matakin da bai taɓa kaiwa ba tun tsakiyar 2022, sakamakon tasirin tashin farashin mai ɗanyen man fetur, in ji FAO.

Shugaban Tinubu ya amince da tsarin Biyan Tiriliyan 3.3 Domin Mayar Da Ingantacciyar Wutar Lantarki

Shugaban ƙasa Bola Tinubu ya amince da tsarin biyan kuɗaɗe domin kammala biyan bashin da ake bin bangaren wutar lantarki a ƙarƙashin Shirin Gyaran Harkokin Kuɗi na Fannin Wutar Lantarki na Ƙasa.

A sanarwar da mai bawa Shugaban kasa Shawara kan yada labarai da dabaru, Bayo Onanuga ya fitar, yace wannan tsarin biyan bashin ya biyo bayan cikakken nazari na ƙarshe kan tsofaffin basussuka da suka addabi bangaren wutar lantarki fiye da shekaru goma.

Basussukan sun taru ne tsakanin watan Fabrairu na shekarar 2015 zuwa Maris na shekarar 2025.

 Bayan tantancewa, an amince da jimillar Naira tiriliyan 3.3 a matsayin cikakken biyan bashin, domin tabbatar da adalci da gaskiya wajen warware matsalar.

An fara aiwatar da shirin, inda tashoshin samar da wutar lantarki guda 15 suka rattaba hannu kan yarjejeniyar karɓar biyan bashin da ya kai Naira tiriliyan 2.3. Gwamnatin Tarayya ta riga ta samar da Naira biliyan 501 domin fara biyan kuɗaɗen. Daga cikin wannan adadi, an riga an fitar da Naira biliyan 223, yayin da ake ci gaba da sauran biyan kuɗaɗen.

Abin da wannan ke nufi ga ‘yan Najeriya: Yayin da kuɗaɗe ke isa ga dukkan sassan samar da wutar lantarki, samar da wuta zai fi karko. Da zarar an tallafa wa tashoshin wutar lantarki, ingancin wuta zai inganta.

Haka kuma, yayin da bangaren ke farfaɗowa, za a samu karin zuba jari, karin ayyukan yi, da ingantattun ayyuka.

Olu Arowolo-Verheijen, Mai Ba Shugaban Ƙasa Shawara kan Harkokin Makamashi, ta ce:

“Wannan shiri ba wai kawai biyan tsofaffin basussuka ba ne.

 Manufarsa ita ce dawo da amincewa a bangaren wutar lantarki — tabbatar da cewa masu samar da iskar gas suna samun kuɗinsu, tashoshin wuta na ci gaba da aiki, kuma tsarin ya fara zama abin dogaro.”

“Wannan yana daga cikin manyan gyare-gyaren da ake aiwatarwa  ciki har da inganta tsarin mita (metering) da kuma tsarin farashin sabis wanda ke da alaƙa da ingancin wutar da kake samu da abin da kake biya.”

“Gwamnati na kuma bai wa harkokin kasuwanci, masana’antu, da kananan sana’o’i fifiko wajen samar da wuta  domin ingantacciyar wuta na da matuƙar muhimmanci wajen samar da ayyukan yi, tallafa wa rayuwar jama’a, da bunƙasa tattalin arziki.”

“Manufar ita ce mai sauƙi: ingantacciyar wuta ga gidaje, karin tallafi ga ‘yan kasuwa, da tsarin da zai yi aiki yadda ya kamata ga kowa da kowa,” in ji ta.

Shugaba Bola Tinubu ya yaba wa dukkan masu ruwa da tsaki da suka taimaka wajen warware matsalolin da suka dade suna addabar bangaren wutar lantarki. Haka kuma ya tabbatar da cewa mataki na gaba (Series II) zai fara a wannan zangon.

FG Highlights Public Enlightenment as Key to Strengthening Accountability in Public Service

The Federal Government has reaffirmed that sustained public enlightenment is vital to advancing the mandate of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in promoting accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct across Nigeria’s public service.

According to the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister, Rabi'u Ibrahim,said this position was reiterated by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, and his delegation to the Ministry in Abuja.

The Minister stressed that awareness creation remains a critical tool in preventing corruption and fostering compliance with ethical standards. He observed that many public servants have limited knowledge of the Bureau’s broader responsibilities beyond asset declaration, underscoring the need for intensified sensitisation efforts.

According to him, the CCB’s mandate is fundamentally preventive, aimed at stopping violations before they occur rather than focusing solely on enforcement. He added that promoting awareness would significantly reduce unethical practices within the public sector.

Mohammed Idris also called for continuous collaboration between the Ministry and the Bureau, noting that sustained engagement is necessary to deepen institutional effectiveness and build a culture of integrity in governance.

He further emphasised that enforcement alone cannot achieve the desired results without adequate public awareness, stressing the need for a balanced approach that combines both strategies.

The Minister assured the Bureau of the Ministry’s full backing, pledging to leverage its agencies and communication platforms to enhance public understanding of the CCB’s activities and strengthen accountability mechanisms across government institutions.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, highlighted the importance of partnering with the Ministry to expand public sensitisation and reinforce ethical standards in governance.

He noted that the Bureau is committed not only to enforcement but also to preventive measures that discourage corrupt practices among public officials. He added that collaboration with the Ministry would support nationwide awareness campaigns, media engagement, and capacity-building initiatives for public servants.

Dr. Bello expressed confidence that utilising the Ministry’s communication channels would improve compliance with asset declaration requirements and promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service.

FRCN @ 75: Tinubu Committed to Modernising Public Media, Says Information Minister

The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to modernising public media and ensuring that no Nigerian is left uninformed, as the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) marks its 75th anniversary.

Speaking on Wednesday at the logo unveiling ceremony held at Radio House, Abuja, to kick off activities commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the FRCN, the Minister highlighted ongoing reforms, noting that the Tinubu administration is investing in infrastructure to strengthen public broadcasting.

“With new 50-kilowatt medium-wave transmitters in Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, and Gwagwalada, FRCN will soon extend its leadership voice in Nigeria’s vast radio landscape. This is a clear demonstration of this administration’s commitment to modernising public media,” he stated.

In a statement by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister, Rabi'u Ibrahim, said Idris stressed that, beyond infrastructure, reforms in the information sector are focused on openness, accountability, and citizen engagement. According to him, “A strong media and an engaged citizenry are the twin pillars of any thriving democracy,” adding that FRCN must continue to lead by example by amplifying the voices of Nigerians and promoting constructive national dialogue.

The Minister described FRCN as a critical national institution that has consistently united Nigerians and amplified the nation's voice. “For three-quarters of a century, FRCN has done more than broadcast. It has uplifted the people. It has united the nation,” he added.

The Minister commended the management and staff of FRCN for their dedication over the years, describing the newly unveiled anniversary logo as a symbol of trust and a promise for the future.

 He said, “The logo we unveiled today is not just a symbol. It is a promise. It carries the diamond brilliance of 75 years of trust and points to a future where FRCN remains credible and unifying.”

In his remarks, the Director-General of the FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for its continued support and investment in the organisation.

Dr Bulama noted that the 75th anniversary represents both a celebration of FRCN’s legacy and a renewed commitment to innovation, professionalism, and public service broadcasting. He assured that the Corporation will continue to adapt to changing technologies while upholding its mandate to inform, educate, and unite Nigerians.

Plateau Killings: SCSN Demands Action, Says “Enough of Condemnation”

The Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria (SCSN) has strongly condemned the recent killing of innocent citizens in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.

In a press statement issued on April 1, 2026, and signed by its Secretary General, Nafiu Baba Ahmad, the Council expressed deep outrage over the attack and called on authorities to move beyond routine condemnations to decisive action.

The Council noted that the repeated cycle of violence followed by mere statements from authorities has become insufficient, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government at all levels.

SCSN emphasized that Islam upholds the sanctity of human life, regardless of religious or ethnic background, warning that the unlawful killing of any individual is a grave offence both morally and spiritually.

The Council further described the Angwan Rukuba attack as a likely premeditated and coordinated act aimed at triggering wider religious and communal conflict in an already fragile environment. It raised concerns about the involvement of well-funded groups, including possible foreign elements, in fueling violence through the proliferation of arms and support for violent networks.

According to the statement, such actors exploit Nigeria’s socio-religious differences to weaken national unity and sustain instability for ulterior motives. It urged the government to identify and decisively deal with both external sponsors and local collaborators through intelligence-driven operations and regional cooperation.

SCSN also expressed concern over the worsening insecurity in parts of northern Nigeria, particularly the North-East and North-West, where communities continue to face insurgency, banditry, and mass killings. It paid tribute to security personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty, noting that their sacrifices must not be in vain.

The Council extended condolences to the government and people of Plateau State, as well as families of victims, praying for strength and comfort in their time of grief.

It called on religious leaders across all faiths to promote peace, restraint, and mutual understanding among their followers, while urging citizens to speak out against individuals or groups inciting violence.

The Council also advocated for a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident, stressing the need for security agencies to act professionally and ensure justice is served.

SCSN concluded by urging Nigerians to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and united against forces seeking to divide the country, warning that the nation must not continue on the current path of violence.

“The time for decisive action is now,” the statement added.
