Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Wada Daho, a former member of the Kano State House of Assembly and former Vice Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Kano South.

According to the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor described the death as a painful loss to Kano State, particularly the political and public service communities, where the deceased made significant contributions.

Governor Yusuf noted that Hon. Wada Daho served the state in different capacities, including as a legislator and party official, before his recent appointment as Permanent Board Member II of the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

He said the deceased would be remembered for his contributions to public service, political development and the advancement of education in the state.

The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, political associates, friends and the people of his constituency, urging them to take solace in the good memories and services he left behind.

Governor Yusuf prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

Gov. Yusuf Rewards Experience, Professionalism with Appointment of 19 Permanent Secretaries

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reinforced his administration’s commitment to merit-based public service by swearing in 19 Permanent Secretaries, recognising their experience, professional competence and contributions to the state civil service.

In a statement by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointments, which were formalised at a ceremony held at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, are aimed at strengthening the administrative structure of government and ensuring effective coordination of public institutions.

Governor Yusuf said the selection process was guided by merit, years of service, professional capacity and commitment to the progress of Kano State, stressing that the new Permanent Secretaries emerged through a deliberate effort to recognise deserving and experienced personnel.

He described the position as a critical pillar of the civil service, noting that Permanent Secretaries have a significant responsibility in ensuring continuity in governance, providing administrative leadership and translating government policies into practical results.

The Governor urged the newly appointed officials to see their elevation as a call to greater service rather than merely an achievement, reminding them that their positions require dedication, discipline and an unwavering commitment to the public interest.

Announces Minor Cabinet Reshufle

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in six newly appointed commissioners, three advisers and 19 Permanent Secretaries, as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

In a statement signed by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the ceremony followed the confirmation of six commissioner nominees by the Kano State House of Assembly on October 26, 2026, after completing the legislative screening process.

The newly confirmed commissioners include Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u (Rtd.), Internal Security and Special Services, Hon. Ibrahim Namadi Dala, Investment Prof. Sani Lawan Manunfashi, Higher Education, Hon. Muktar Ishaq Yakasai, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation,  Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, Scence and Technology while Hon. Idris Garba Mustapha is assigned to Special Duties.

In a related development, Governor Yusuf has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle involving the redeployment of two commissioners to different ministries.

Under the new arrangement, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, who previously served as Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

Similarly, Hamza Kachaco has been moved to the Ministry of Environment.

Following the reshuffle, the Ministries of Information and Internal Affairs, as well as Solid Minerals and Mineral Resources, remain vacant pending further decisions by the state government.

The Governor said the appointments and administrative adjustments were aimed at strengthening government institutions, improving administrative efficiency and repositioning key ministries for effective service delivery.

He urged the newly sworn-in commissioners, advisers and Permanent Secretaries to demonstrate dedication, integrity and commitment to their responsibilities, stressing the need to prioritise public interest and work towards the development of Kano State.

Governor Yusuf further charged them to work collaboratively in advancing the administration’s development agenda and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

According to the statement by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor described the death as a painful loss to Kano State, particularly the business community, considering the contributions of the deceased to the growth of commerce and private enterprise in the state.

Governor Yusuf noted that the late Maibiskit was among the prominent business figures whose efforts contributed to the development of Kano’s commercial activities and the state’s reputation as a major centre of trade and industry.

The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, especially his granddaughter, Engr. Yasmin Mukhtar, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Education, as well as other relatives, friends, business associates and the people of Kano State.

Kano Task Force Arrests Alleged Dala Gang Sponsor 'Malam Keya' In Port Harcourt

The Kano State Multi-Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking has arrested Ishaq Lawan Ibrahim, popularly known as "Malam Keya", a 27-year-old man from Yelwa in Dala Local Government Area, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He is suspected of playing a leading role in the violent gang clashes that have disturbed the peace of parts of Kano State.

According to the statement signed and posted on the Committee's Facebook page, Malam Keya is alleged to be a gang leader who orchestrated and sponsored the violence, fuelling and funding the hoodlums behind attacks that claimed lives and left residents of Dala Local Government living in fear.

The suspect reportedly fled Kano after the Task Force intensified security operations in communities affected by gang violence, including Jakara, Madigawa, Yalwa, Sanka, Kul Kul, Dogon Nama, Kuka Bulukiya, Dala, Shatsari and Dandalin Turawa. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives tracked him to Port Harcourt, where he was apprehended in an operation led by the Task Force's Head of Operations, CSP Bashir Gwadabe. He has since been brought back to Kano.

Confirming the arrest, the Chairman of the Task Force, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, Esq., said: "Let me assure you that those who bankroll violence should know that no distance, and no hiding place, will protect them. This arrest is only the beginning. We will not rest until peace is fully restored."

The arrest, made outside Kano State, shows the Task Force's determination to pursue wanted suspects beyond the state's boundaries. The suspect is in custody and will be further investigated and, upon completion, prosecuted. The Task Force stressed that its operations will continue in accordance with the law, and that all suspects will be subjected to due process.

The Task Force assures the people of Kano State that it will not relent in dismantling criminal gangs, their sponsors and their drug supply networks. It calls on all citizens, community leaders, religious leaders, parents and youths to join hands in this fight by:

- Reporting suspicious activities and persons promptly to the nearest security outpost

- Keeping a close watch on their children and neighbourhoods

- Refusing to be used by anyone to disturb the peace

The safety of Kano is a shared responsibility, and together we will reclaim our streets and secure the future of our state.

The Task Force appreciates the support of the Kano State Police Command, the Rivers State Police Command and all other law enforcement agencies for their commitment to the success of the operation.

According to the statement by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the call followed the inauguration of 528 Tinubu ambassadors on Wednesday at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, as part of efforts to strengthen the movement’s grassroots structures and expand its door-to-door campaign across the state.

The ambassadors are expected to engage residents in their communities, mobilise youths and women, and raise awareness about the movement’s objectives ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Sheikh Bala Lau Calls for Probe, Arrest Over Viral Enugu Attack Threat

By Ibrahim Shehu Giwa. The National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, has strongly condemned a viral video showing a man dressed in the uniform of the organisation’s First Aid Group, participating in a jogging exercise and chanting provocative statements calling for AK-47 rifles to be given to them to enable them to travel to Enugu on Sunday and carry out an attack.

Reacting to the disturbing development, Sheikh Bala Lau called on the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to immediately investigate the incident, identify those responsible and ensure that anyone found culpable is brought to justice in accordance with the law.

The National Chairman categorically dissociated JIBWIS from the inflammatory statements, stressing that such expressions of violence, intimidation and threats against any community are completely alien to the principles, teachings and objectives upon which the organisation was established.

He emphasised that wearing the uniform of the JIBWIS First Aid Group or appearing among its members does not automatically establish that an individual is acting on behalf of the organisation or with its authorisation.

Sheikh Bala Lau further expressed concern that the incident could represent a deliberate attempt by individuals or external interests to misrepresent the organisation and damage its longstanding reputation. He therefore urged security agencies to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the video, including the identity, affiliation and possible motives of those involved.

The Chairman recalled that JIBWIS recently organised an international conference in Abuja, bringing together Christian leaders, Muslim scholars from different Islamic schools of thought, prominent personalities and participants from different parts of the world, with the central objective of promoting interfaith dialogue, mutual understanding, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

He questioned how an organisation that has consistently invested its resources, leadership and institutional efforts in building bridges across religious and ethnic divides could reasonably be associated with statements advocating violence against fellow Nigerians.

Tinubu Administration Records Gains in Gas Sector, Officials Say

The Decade of Gas Secretariat and the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (PI-CNG & EV) have highlighted key developments in Nigeria’s gas sector under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The officials spoke on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at a media capacity-building engagement organised by the two initiatives in Kano, where about 27 journalists from television, radio, print and digital media organisations participated.

The engagement, the first formal media session organised in Kano by the initiatives, was aimed at strengthening journalists’ understanding of Nigeria’s gas development agenda and promoting accurate reporting of developments and opportunities in the sector.

Speaking at the event, the Workstream Lead for Infrastructure and Demand at the Decade of Gas Secretariat, Mr Taofeek Balogun, said Nigeria’s proven gas reserves had increased from 208.83 trillion cubic feet (TCF) in 2023 to 215.19 TCF as of January 2026.

He also said average gas production increased from 6.86 billion cubic feet per day (BCF/D) to about 7.5 BCF/D, while domestic gas supply had exceeded 2 BCF/D.

According to him, about $3.5 billion in investments had been committed to four major gas projects, while the OB3 Gas Pipeline had reached 100 per cent completion and the AKK Gas Pipeline was approximately 95 per cent completed.

Balogun further disclosed that ₦671 billion in public infrastructure funding had attracted about ₦1.6 trillion in private investment into the sector.

On clean cooking, he said the government’s LPG programme was targeting five million households by 2030, with pilot activities launched in Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states.

He added that distribution activities involving 27,000 LPG cylinders had commenced, alongside regional sensitisation programmes aimed at increasing public awareness and adoption of LPG.

Balogun also announced that Nigeria was targeting September 24, 2028, for the transition to a Willing Buyer, Willing Seller (WBWS) gas market framework, which he said would promote competition, transparency and commercial sustainability in the sector.

On compressed natural gas, the Chief Operating Officer of PI-CNG & EV, Mr Tosin Coker, said CNG remained important to the government’s efforts to reduce transportation costs, improve energy security and promote cleaner mobility.

Coker also addressed concerns over CNG safety, stressing the need for motorists to use certified conversion centres, approved equipment and comply with relevant regulations while ensuring proper vehicle maintenance.

He disclosed that 670 CNG buses had so far been deployed across the country, with 285 operating commercially in 13 states, while another 302 had been allocated to transport unions, students and government agencies.

He said the vehicle conversion programme had also focused significantly on commercial transport operators, enabling drivers to reduce fuel expenditure while extending the benefits of CNG to commuters.

According to him, hundreds of additional CNG buses and tricycles were currently on order as part of efforts to expand cleaner and more affordable public transportation.

He said participating routes under the National Affordable CNG Transition Programme (NACTP) had recorded fare reductions ranging between 15 and 50 per cent.

The initiative also disclosed plans to establish 127 additional CNG refuelling stations across 31 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of efforts to improve access to CNG nationwide.

Kano State, it said, had emerged as a strategic hub for clean mobility in Northern Nigeria, leading the North-West with seven operational CNG refuelling stations.

Seventeen additional stations are currently at various stages of completion in the state, while 25 additional CNG buses have been deployed to complement earlier commercial deployments.

The officials said the developments were expected to create opportunities for affordable transportation, investment and industrial growth along the northern gas corridor.

The media engagement also featured an interactive session during which journalists sought clarification on gas accessibility, affordability, safety, infrastructure development and the implementation of government policies in the sector.

Speaking on behalf of the participating journalists, Mr Murtala Adewale of The Guardian commended the organisers for the engagement, describing it as informative, educative and beneficial to media practitioners.

He called for more frequent capacity-building programmes, greater participation of journalists in future engagements and stronger collaboration between the media, industry stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

Kano Govt Approves MRTF for 90 Doctors, Begins Process to Align Salaries with FG Structure

The Kano State Government, under the purposeful and health-focused leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Executive Governor of Kano State, has approved the immediate payment of the MRTF allowance to 90 eligible doctors, alongside the commencement of administrative processes for the payment of doctors’ salaries in line with the Federal Government’s approved salary structure for doctors.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Samira Sulaiman, the approvals represent a significant step in the state government's continued commitment to improving the welfare of medical personnel, strengthening industrial harmony, and ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery to the good people of Kano State. The development comes amid the proposed two weeks warning strike announced by the Nigerian Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) over outstanding welfare related demands.

The Kano State Government wishes to assure the association and all concerned medical practitioners that their requests are receiving the necessary attention and that concrete steps are being taken to address the issues raised. In addition to the approved MRTF allowance and the commencement of the process for salary alignment, the government has also initiated the computation of rural allowances for eligible personnel. These measures are intended to ensure that qualified doctors and other eligible medical personnel receive their rightful entitlements in accordance with applicable government policies and administrative procedures.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned Section III of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway, covering the Zaria–Kano corridor, through Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who represented him at the ceremony.

Gov. Yusuf Assures Tinubu of Northern Support for 2027 Re-election

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the support of Northern Nigeria for his re-election in the 2027 general elections.

There is a particular kind of writing that speaks to two people at once. It looks a leader in the eye and tells him what his work has meant, while turning to the crowd behind him to remind them of what has been done in their name. That is the only honest way to write about Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, because his story belongs equally to him and to the people of Kano. Your Excellency, listen. People of Kano, listen too.

A man whose support was earned, not handed over

Kano has known Abba Kabir Yusuf longer than the chants have existed. In 2014, while serving as Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, he won the APC primary for the Kano Central Senate seat and then gave the ticket to his principal, Rabiu Kwankwaso. Nobody forced that decision. In 2019, running for governor on the PDP platform, he led the first count with 1,014,474 votes to Ganduje’s 987,819, before a disputed rerun in 28 local government areas turned the outcome by a margin of just 8,982 votes. He carried that without letting it harden into bitterness, and four years later he returned to poll 1,019,602 votes, more than Kwankwaso himself received in Kano as the presidential candidate of the same party.

People of Kano, this is worth remembering when anyone suggests the affection for this governor was manufactured. When the Supreme Court restored his mandate in January 2024, you did not wait for a summons. Thousands of you left your homes before sunrise and walked kilometres beside his convoy, chanting his name until the road itself seemed to answer. That was you, not a campaign budget. Your Excellency, hold on to that memory on the hard days, because it is the truest measure of what you have earned.

What the classroom and the household now look like

From the first months in office, this administration chose to spend its political capital where families feel it most. Between 29.95 and 31 percent of the state budget has gone to education in each of the last three years, above the 26 percent benchmark UNESCO recommends, and the result is not abstract. It is 80,000 new desks for 240,000 pupils who used to sit on bare floors, free uniforms for more than 800,000 Primary 1 children, thousands of rehabilitated schools, reopened girls’ boarding schools, thousands of new teachers and a cleared promotions backlog that had stood since 2017. Kano then finished first in Nigeria in the 2025 NECO results. Your Excellency, that is not a lucky statistic. It is the return on a decision to fund what you said mattered.

Parents, ask what your child’s classroom looked like three years ago. Retirees and the families of workers who died in service, remember the roughly ₦32 billion in gratuities and death benefits that sat unpaid until this government settled them. And women of all 44 local government areas, remember the ₦50,000 that reaches thousands of you every month, 5,800 of you in the round launched this September. These are not slogans printed on a billboard. They are deposits into real households.

The boring numbers that build the exciting projects

A state cannot spend what it does not earn, and this is the part of the record that rarely makes headlines. Internally generated revenue has grown from roughly ₦40 billion in 2023 to about ₦102 billion by 2025. The Kano Geographic Information System Agency, which once raised barely ₦50 million a month, now raises about ₦750 million. The 2025 budget was implemented at 96.9 percent, which means that what Kano’s government promises on paper is overwhelmingly what reaches the ground. Your Excellency, protect that discipline, because it is the engine under every flyover and every scholarship.

Farmers, you can now buy fertiliser at half the open market price, with anti-corruption agencies watching the distribution so that it reaches you and not a middleman. Traders of the Farm Centre GSM Market, your burnt stalls are being rebuilt in a ₦2 billion redevelopment that adds a fire station, drainage and a pedestrian bridge. Young people, a new digital market is projected to create more than 100,000 jobs. A state that raises more of its own money can keep building when federal allocations fall short, and that is what this reform was for.

Safer streets, healthier families, faster roads

Health, security and mobility are where the state’s promises are tested at the level of the ordinary day. More than a million vulnerable residents are being enrolled in health insurance, and enrolment has already beaten its target by 110,000. The Ramadan feeding programme reached 1.1 million people in the first ten days of the holy month. The Multi Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse recorded more than 200 raids and more than 200 convictions in its first forty five days and rescued 43 children from exploitation. More than 16,000 streetlights now burn across the state, and the Dan’agundi and Tal’udu interchanges, over 80 percent complete, are close to ending the gridlock that residents have endured for decades.

Every one of us knows the fear of a dark road and a snatched phone. Light is not decoration. It is the reason a trader can close later and a student can walk home without sprinting, and every convicted supplier is one fewer danger on a neighbour’s street. Your Excellency, finish those bridges and pay every contractor you owe, so that the projects at eighty percent become projects at a hundred. People of Kano, keep asking to see the work, because it was built to be seen.

Government you are allowed to check

One reform deserves more attention than it gets. By giving the Open Government Partnership a commissioner level co-chair and a dedicated focal office, and by publishing project progress through the state’s Integrated Projects Monitoring System, this administration invited exactly the kind of scrutiny that many governments avoid. Your Excellency, do not flinch from it. Let independent voices audit your completion figures, because a record this strong loses nothing by being checked and gains everything by being trusted.

And to the citizens, an honest word. Not everyone in Kano agrees with this governor. Some of his former allies, including the Kwankwasiyya camp he left, believe his move to the APC in January 2026 was a betrayal, and that view deserves a hearing rather than a shouting match. Your job is neither to cheer nor to sneer. It is to look at what has been built, ask what remains unfinished, and decide with your own eyes.

So Go Again

Your Excellency, you have touched the classroom and the clinic, the farm and the market, the road and the streetlight, the retiree’s envelope and the young graduate’s startup grant. Go again, Abba, and go with the humility of a man who understands that applause is a loan repaid in results.

And to you, people of Kano, you have seen enough to form your own judgment. If you believe what you have seen, say so with your vote and say it out loud. This is a state worth finishing what it started.

Kano Gov. Yusuf Congratulates Ekiti Counterpart Oyebanji on Second-Term Inauguration

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated his Ekiti State counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji, on his inauguration for a second term in office.

According to the statement by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the occasion as a significant milestone in Oyebanji’s political career and a testament to the confidence reposed in his leadership by the people of Ekiti State.

The Governor expressed optimism that Oyebanji’s second term would provide another opportunity to consolidate his achievements, strengthen democratic governance, and accelerate development across Ekiti State.

He urged the Ekiti State Governor to remain committed to people-oriented policies, inclusive governance, and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens.

Governor Yusuf, who was represented by his deputy, H.E. Murtala Garo, at the inauguration, also emphasised the importance of cooperation among state governments in promoting national unity, economic growth, and sustainable development.

He wished Governor Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye, a successful and productive second term in office.

Let us be honest with ourselves. When Abba Kabir Yusuf took over on 29th May, 2023, many people were doubting. Today, even his worst enemies cannot deny that Kano has moved.

I went through the project registry at the Office of the SSA Publicity. As at May 29, 2026, this government has 1,493 projects on its table. 799 completed and delivered, 694 are ongoing at advanced level. You can go and verify in any of the 44 LGAs. That is not audio project.

EDUCATION FIRST, SECOND, THIRD

Abba did what many avoided. On June 8, 2024, he declared State of Emergency on Education. And he backed it with money nobody has done before in Kano.

2024 budget - 29.95% to education. 2025 budget - 31% to education. 2026 budget - N405.3 billion out of N1.368 trillion, which is 30% of the whole budget. UNESCO asks for 26%, Abba is doing 30% plus.

WHAT IS THE RESULT OF THE MONEY ALLOCATED AND SPENT?

He recruited over 15,000 teachers. That includes 2,000 volunteer teachers who were regularized. He renovated more than 3,500 classrooms and built hundreds of new ones across the state. Free uniforms, furniture, textbooks distributed.

At tertiary level, he cut registration fees by 50% in all state-owned institutions. He paid N4.45 billion examination fees for NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS for Kano students. Go to Ministry of Education and ask.

And about the scholarship the former Governor Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso started, Governor Yusuf revived it fully. First batch 418 students, they all completed their studies. Second batch 1,001 students flagged off at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, 350 to India, 240 to private universities inside Nigeria. He also paid the debt left behind over N3 billion, N2.4bn to Near East University Cyprus, N500m to 5 private universities, plus N2 billion support for Kano indigenes in public universities. And for those 150 first class graduates that came back, he gave them automatic employment.

Today Kano students are Best in NECO 2024 and 2025 consecutively. An achievement celebrated across. 

HEALTH - LAFIYA DOLE IS REAL

You remember how our General Hospitals were? No drugs, no light. Our able leader renovated 340 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across 44 LGAs. He upgraded over 200 PHCs to run 24 hours. He renovated General Hospitals in Wudil, Bichi, Gaya, Rano and others.

He built 10 new General Hospitals, 6 more are in the pipeline. He established Kano Centre for Disease Control (KCDC) for the first time. He revived the Drug Revolving Fund - now 90% of prescribed drugs are available.

And for our mothers - free antenatal, free postnatal, free CS for pregnant women, free healthcare for children under 5 and elderly. Over 2,000 health workers employed - doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists.

ROADS, WATER, LIGHT - YOU CAN SEE IT. 

Dan Agundi Flyover and Underpass completed, only finishing touches. Tal'udu Cloverleaf Flyover completed, finishing touches also. These two alone decongested many parts of the city.

Then 5km roads in each LGA, though not promise, but they are on ground. Tarauni-Hotoro-Kwanar Dawaki dualization, BUK Road, Zaria Road, Katsina Road. Panshekara Underpass to Madobi Bridge N5.2bn. Dambatta to Gwarabjawa N2.63bn.

Water: He rehabilitated Challawa and Tamburawa Water Treatment Plants. The biggest Goron Dutse Reservoir that was dead for 30 years, now back with 40.4 million litres capacity and 15.6km transmission line from Challawa. Test run already on board before the main supply. 

PEOPLE-ORIENTED POLICIES THAT TOUCH THE POOR

This is where many governors fail. Our Governor went to the grassroots.

(1) Agriculture - subsidized fertilizer, improved drought-tolerant seeds, tractors, harvesters. Kano divided into three zones for mechanization.

(2) Empowerment - KEEP programme: sewing machines, grinding machines, freezers, noodle machines, soft loans for women and youth.

(3) Girl-child - He created Office of SSA on Girl-Child Education, appointed 88 girl-child advocates across 44 LGAs. Through AGILE, 148,000 girls trained in life skills, 100,000 girls got cash transfer, free school shuttle buses for girls, re-entry policy for married adolescent girls. No other governor has done that.

(4) Economy - Created Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASA) to block revenue leakages. The Agency made N300m in just 3 months, now targeting N2bn. Under him Kano acquired majority shares in KEDCO, launched Kano Electricity Policy, and secured President Tinubu's approval for N1 trillion Kano Metropolitan Rail.

(5) Security - Kano remains peaceful. Neighbourhood security offices, support for police, DSS, Civil Defence.

And for workers - settlement of pension backlogs, which runs into Billions of Naira. After prolonged years of negligence from past administrations. With this he injected life into the near-dead families across the state. Establishment and construction of 50 low-cost houses in each of the 36 LGAs, an ongoing project. solar streetlights, 150KW solar backup.

In conclusion without taking much time to explain, let me say this, in three years, he has fulfilled over 90% of his campaign promises.

So when some opposition politicians gather and start shouting, ask them one question - where were they when schools had no roofs, hospitals had no drugs, and water was not running for 30 years?

Apart from projects and other infrastructural development, there are two major issues that are brought on board by His Excellency Governor Yusuf, in the last few months. 

The first and foremost is his choice of HE Murtala Sule Garo to become his Deputy after the resignation of the then Deputy, HE Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo. Personal interest and political differences apart, there was no better choice than Garo. Looking at the prism from all angles. But His Excellency, the Governor is in the best position to understand what I'm saying. What HE Garo is to him and his administration, can best be explain by the Governor. Yes him alone (Governor Yusuf) can put it succinctly clear. 

The second issue is that of the establishment of Kano State Multi-Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse and Other Related Crimes. As he appointed Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, as the Chairman. This agency is doing well in cleansing the state, especially the metropolis, from the activities of drug abuse among our youth. The nefarious activities of our derailed youth, popularly called 'Yandaba' are reduced drastically. Rimingado trails them down to their hideout. 

When it comes to real politics, His Excellency, the people's Governor, is a political unifier. A moulder of peace and tranquility among members and leaders of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC). While he promotes peace in party politics, he is a bridge between divergent political interests within the ruling APC. This needs no further explanation and instances. 

Abba deserves another tenure not because he is perfect, but because he has done what many could not do in many years, in just three years. The remaining 694 ongoing projects need him to finish them.

Kano First is not a slogan. It is visible remark hovering around us. His efforts, political will and delivery are visible for all to see. Let us allow him to finish what he started. The good work for a better legacy.

Gov. Yusuf Celebrates Senator Basheer Lado at 60

….Commends His Contributions to National Development….

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on National Assembly Matters (Senate), on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

In a statement signed by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor described Senator Lado as an experienced politician, accomplished legislator and committed public servant whose contributions to democratic governance, humanitarian services and national development remain commendable.

Governor Yusuf acknowledged Lado’s role in strengthening relations between the Executive and the Senate, noting that his political experience and maturity have continued to contribute to effective governance and national cohesion.

He recalled that Senator Lado represented Kano Central Senatorial District in the Seventh National Assembly from 2011 to 2015, where he served as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works and facilitated important constituency projects, including the Kundila Bridge, popularly known as Gadar Lado, in Kano State.

The Governor also commended his contributions to humanitarian services through his previous positions as Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, and Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

Governor Yusuf further praised the senator’s interventions through the Ladon Alheri Foundation in education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, rural water supply and support for disadvantaged communities.

He said Senator Lado’s record of public service reflects his commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians and advancing the development of the country.

The Governor prayed Almighty Allah to grant Senator Lado good health, wisdom and more years of fruitful service to the nation.
