Gov. Yusuf Assures Tinubu of Northern Support for 2027 Re-election

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the support of Northern Nigeria for his re-election in the 2027 general elections.

According to the statement by the Director General Media and Publicity Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor gave the assurance on Saturday in Abuja while speaking at the inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign office.
Governor Yusuf expressed confidence that the North would stand behind President Tinubu in the forthcoming election, reaffirming his commitment to the President’s second-term ambition.

He said the A4A movement would serve as a platform for mobilising support across the Northern states and strengthening political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said Kano as the leading state with highest number of votes in northern Nigeria will in sha Allah lead all Nigerian states to victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with massive turnout in favour of the APC.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima said the North had demonstrated its support for President Tinubu, stressing that political support must go hand in hand with accountability, good governance and tangible results that improve the lives of Nigerians.
The Vice President acknowledged the economic challenges facing citizens and emphasised the need for the administration to remain responsive to their concerns, while prioritising security, education, poverty reduction and economic opportunities.
The A4A movement is aimed at coordinating support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory with former minister of defense H.E. Badaru Abubakar as its national coordinator.

Governor Yusuf Hails Muslim Intellectual Forum’s Endorsement of Tinubu for 2027

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed satisfaction with the resolution of the Muslim Intellectual Forum to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.

The Governor described the endorsement as a significant development, noting that the decision by Islamic scholars, imams and religious leaders reflects their assessment of the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.

The Muslim Intellectual Forum, comprising Islamic scholars, imams and religious leaders from the northern states, announced its position after a meeting with the governors of Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Kaduna and Sokoto states at Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall, Dutse, Jigawa State, on Saturday.

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Dr Muttaqha Rabe Darma, who spoke on behalf of the group, said the scholars reviewed the situation in Northern Nigeria and expressed satisfaction with what they described as progress recorded under the Tinubu administration.

According to him, the group passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and resolved to encourage Nigerians, particularly those in the North, to continue supporting his administration and vote for him in the 2027 presidential election.

The scholars also commended the Federal Government’s infrastructure projects, particularly the construction and rehabilitation of roads, as well as efforts in security, education, healthcare, water supply and other areas of public welfare.

Darma specifically cited the rehabilitation of the Kano-Kaduna road and improved security in some parts of Kaduna, Katsina and Sokoto states as examples of progress recorded by the administration.

He, however, acknowledged that security challenges persist in parts of Northern Nigeria, particularly Niger and Zamfara states, and called for greater efforts by the government to address the situation and ensure lasting peace.

Governor Yusuf commended the Muslim Intellectual Forum for its commitment to peace, development and the wellbeing of the people, while appreciating the scholars and political leaders who attended the meeting.

The Governor also expressed appreciation to the forum for recognising ongoing efforts towards improving infrastructure, security and social services across the country.

The Muslim Intellectual Forum further commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his presence and support for the meeting.
