The Kano State Government has approved Sunday, September 15th, 2024, as the new resumption date for all boarding public/private primary and post-primary schools in the state for the start of the 2024/2025 first term academic session. Pupils and students in day schools across the state will resume on Monday, September 16th, 2024.  It should be noted that the state Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, announced on Saturday, September 7th, the postponement of the school resumption date. A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, urges parents/guardians of students to take note of the new resumption date to ensure complete compliance.  It also advised students to avoid bringing any illegal items to school, such as knives or razors, and to obey the law. Kano State Government has postponed resumption date of both Primary and Post Primary Schools for the commencement of 2024/2025 academic session. A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru quoted the Commissioner of Education Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa explaining that the decision to postpone the resumption date is compelled by some urgent reasons. Umar Doguwa disclosed that another day for the schools resumption would soon be announced by the ministry.
