Mammoth Crowd Welcomes Governor Yusuf Back to Kano After APC National Convention

Kano witnessed a massive show of political strength and popular support as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf returned to the state following his participation in the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, on Saturday.

Thousands of supporters thronged the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport and major entry points into the city, turning the Governor’s arrival into a powerful display of grassroots dominance and party unity.
The electrifying reception, marked by chants, music, and a sea of party flags, brought movement across key roads in the metropolis to a standstill as residents came out in solidarity with the Governor.

The massive turnout underscores Governor Yusuf’s growing political influence and the deepening connection between his administration and the people of Kano State.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Yusuf described the reception as both humbling and energizing, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to people-centered governance and the delivery of tangible democratic dividends.

He emphasized that his administration remains focused and determined to accelerate development across key sectors.

The Governor also rallied party faithful to sustain unity and strengthen grassroots mobilization as the political landscape continues to evolve.
"I want use this opportunity to reasure the good people of Kano State that the present administration under my stewardship, will continue to provide divident of democracy in all critical areas of human endeavours."

The Governor said he will sustain the state partnership with Federal Government under the able leadership of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu to bring federal interventions for Kano State.

"APC is consolodated with unity of purpose and In sha Allah the party will win all elective positions in the forthcoming 2027 general elections."
The reception signals a consolidation of political momentum and reinforces Kano’s strategic importance in the party’s broader national outlook.

The reception was organized by Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) under the able leader of its chairperson Hon. Saadatu Yusha'u Soja has witnessed tremendous turn out by all categories of stakeholders which include party executives, political office holders, supporters, singers, traders among others.
It took the crowd eight ( 8) hours to escort Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf from Malam Aminu Kano Airport to the Government house, a journey that could have lasted for 15 minutes.

It could be noted that the mammoth crowd is second to the one held on 12th January, 2024 when the Governor returned to Kano after the supreme court judgment.

Governor Yusuf Storms APC National Convention in Abuja with Thousands of Supporters

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Friday led thousands of supporters to the Eagle Square, Abuja, to attend the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Saturday.

The convention, held ahead of the 2027 general elections, marked a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the next political cycle.
Governor Yusuf described the event as peaceful, well-organised, and a clear indication of the APC’s strength and dominance as the largest political party in Africa.
He expressed confidence that the party is well-positioned for victory in the forthcoming general elections.

The Governor noted that the massive turnout of party faithful and stakeholders from across the country reflects unity and renewed commitment among members.
He further observed that key political figures from Kano State were in attendance, demonstrating cohesion and solidarity within the party in the state.

Governor Yusuf commended party leaders and supporters who travelled from far and near to witness the historic convention.
The Governor also congratulated the new national executives under the leadeeship of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda who emerged as the National Chairman of the party.
Governor Yusuf prayed for the safe return of all delegates and participants to their respective states particularly those from Kano.

He added that the successful outcome of the convention signals the APC’s readiness to face future electoral challenges with confidence and unity.
