The commission has launched an extensive investigation into the syndicate, accused of manipulating legal and administrative systems to fraudulently acquire public and private lands. Amid growing fear in Kano state about the rumoured outbreak of avian influenza, also known as bird flu, the state government has urged residents to remain calmed and report any suspected case of the disease to the authority concerned.
