Despite insecurity, Zamfara students excel at Savannah conference basketball in Kano

Despite the insecurity challenge, representative of Zamfara state in the ongoing Savannah Conference inter secondary schools basketball championship for boys and girls are in high spirit and make an impact in the tournament. The head of school sports under the special services in the state ministry of education, Malam Sagir Sani stated this shortly after Sambo Secondary schools, Busau, and Government girls day secondary school, Samaru, Zamfara state walked over their opponents from Yobe state held at the indoor sports hall of Sani Abacha Sports Complex, Kofar Mata, Kano. NSSF tasks Students as Milo basketball begins in Kano

Students taking part in the 25th edition of Nestle Milo inter secondary schools basketball championship for boys and girls have been urged to utilize the competition as ladder for greener pasture. The Savannah Conference which begins today Saturday attracted seven state so far namely: Yobe. Borno, Katsina, Bauchi, Adamawa, Zamfara and host state Kano in attendance. Basketball: Students welfare is my priority says NSSF President

The President of the Nigerian School Sports Federation NSSF. Olabisi Joseph says that taking care of students welfare is paramount ahead of the 25th edition of inter secondary schools basketball conferences for boys and girls in four centres. Olabisi Joseph dropped this hints while addressing the centre's coordinators and some key stakeholders at the NSSF Secretariat, Lagos. The federation and the competition's sponsors, Nestle Milo Company would continue to work collectively with a view to improve the championship. KHAIRUN Launches Female Students’ Masjid

In a significant step towards promoting spiritual development and discipline, Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), has officially commissioned a new Masjid dedicated to its female students. Speaking at the occasion held earlier, the University Management highlighted that the Masjid was established to encourage congregational prayers, provide a space for Islamic discussions and preaching, as well as to help regulate students’ movements in line with the university’s policy of prioritizing students’ welfare and safety—especially for female students. Speaker Abbas’s aide distributes 250 JAMB forms to Dala Students

Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim, a senior legislative aide to the Speaker House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has distributed two hundred and fifty Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to students in Kano State. The distribution exercise was held at Mubayya House in Kano on Monday. The beneficiaries were drawn from twelve wards of Dala Local Government of Kano State. Distributing the forms to the selected student, Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim said that the idea was conceived out of his passion to give back to his society, saying the gesture was meant to help the less privileged. He said that plans are in the pipeline to introduce an educational fund which will support students in Dala Local Government Area. Kano students, 35 states and FCT Abuja set to storm Lago's for NSSF championships

36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja are to compete in the National School Swimming championship tagged: "FISH" scheduled to hold in Lagos. The competition which is being organized by the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) as part of it's commitment to revive the lost glory of the event nationwide. A statement by the Secretary General of the federation, Oba Funsho Usman PhD and made it available to newsmen said the championship will take place at the National Stadium swimming pool, Surulere, Lago's from February 13rd and 14th2025. He said that the event aims is to bring young athletes from public and private schools to showcase their swimming skills and compete at national level, adding that the eventual winner of the championship will have the unique opportunity to represent the country at the international School Federation (ISF) Gymanasiade and other international school sports competitions later in the year. Schools Resumption: Monitoring Teams Report Good Turn Out of Teachers, Students in Kano

As Primary and Post Primary Schools resumed today Monday 6th January for the commencement of second term 2025 academic session in Kano, schools monitoring teams have reported good turn out of teachers and students from the various schools visited. A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment Kano State Ministry of Education Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru explained that teachers, students and pupils were met present in most of the schools as early as 7:30am. " From the report we have, the turn out of both teachers and students is satisfactory, schools have opened as early as 7:30am - 8:00am with absenteeism recorded in few schools.
