Kano Govt. Partners With Kano Property Agents To Boost Security, Economy

The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has held a strategic meeting with the Kano Property Agents and Development Association to strengthen regulations in the real estate sector for improved security and economic development in the state.

In a statement signed by the Director Special Duties of the Ministry, Sani Abba Yola, said during the meeting, the Commissioner emphasized the crucial role of property agents in safeguarding the state’s security and economy. 

He expressed concerns over cases where criminals and terrorists exploit loopholes in the system to rent or purchase properties for unlawful activities. 

 The Commissioner stressed the need for a legal framework that will guide the operations of real estate agents and landlords to prevent such security threats.

Comrade Waiya further highlighted that the Ministry of Information has a dedicated Department of Internal Affairs, responsible for engaging with associations whose activities impact the public directly. He assured that the government is committed to working with stakeholders to ensure proper regulation of property transactions in the state.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Kano Property Agents and Development Association, Alhaji Isa Jibrin Isa, commended the Commissioner for his commitment to improving the sector. He pledged the association’s full support in collaborating with the government to sanitize the industry, ensuring transparency and compliance with security measures.

Alhaji Isa also raised concerns about the increasing number of individuals engaging in property transactions without registering with the association. He called on the government to introduce necessary reforms that will regulate the sector and enhance professionalism.

The chairman stated that the engagement between Kano State Government and the Association marks a significant step toward ensuring a safer and more organized real estate sector in the state.

Kano HOS Visits Ministry of Internal Security, Commends Progress


The Kano State Head of Service, Alh. Abdullahi Musa, today paid a visit to the Kano State Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services, marking a significant milestone for the ministry.

As a newly established entity, the ministry recently completed the renovation of its office space at Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV), creating a more functional and conducive work environment. 

In a statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, Murtala Shehu Umar, the visit by the Head of Service provided an opportunity to showcase these improvements and highlight the ministry’s commitment to efficiency and service delivery.

During his tour of the facility, Alh. Abdullahi Musa commended the team for their dedication in setting up the ministry and ensuring a smooth transition into its new workspace. 

He acknowledged the importance of the ministry’s role in enhancing internal security and assured continued government support for its operations.

He further emphasized the values of teamwork, dedication, and innovation as key drivers of success, encouraging staff to remain committed to their responsibilities. 

His visit served as a morale booster, reinforcing the ministry’s determination to contribute meaningfully to the security and development of Kano State.

The ministry expresses its sincere appreciation for the visit and looks forward to a productive journey ahead.
