In a bold reaction to insinuations that the APC is planning to manipulate the 2027 elections in Kano, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has vowed to resist any pressure on his mandate. Speaking during the monthly women empowerment program at Coronation Hall yesterday, the Governor emphasized that he is not worried about the 2027 elections, as leadership is ordained by the Almighty Allah. This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. “What I am worried about is not re-election. I am more concerned about delivering the dividends of democracy on the mandate given to me in this first tenure. Governor Yusuf set to distribute N3b for flood victims in Kano

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has completed arrangements to flag off distribution of three billion naira (N3b) to victims of flood in last rainy season in the affected areas. Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this while declaring opened the 23rd State Executive Council Meeting held at Kano Government House today. A statement issued by Governor's spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday said, Governor Yusuf revealed that the amount was donated by the Federal Government to the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory as intervention for the 2024 flood disaster. The governor further revealed that the money was remitted to the state treasury few months ago in preparation for onward distribution the the affected victims. Kano: Governor Yusuf Accepts Resignation of Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation

The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has accepted the resignation of Engr. Muhammad Diggol, the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, with immediate effect. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday. Engr. Muhammad Diggol was initially appointed as Commissioner for Transportation at the inception of Governor Yusuf’s administration in 2023.  He was later reassigned to the Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation, where he served until his resignation today. Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude to Engr. Diggol for his selfless service, unwavering commitment, dedication, and exemplary work ethic during his tenure as a member of the State Executive Council. According to the statement, the Governor also extended his best wishes to Engr. Diggol in his future endeavours.

Governor Yusuf Makes Fresh Appointments, to Swear in New Commissioners Monday

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a series of strategic appointments aimed at strengthening his administration’s delivery of good governance. In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointments, which take immediate effect, include Hon. Ahmad Muhammad Speaker as Special Adviser on Publicity.  Hon. Ahmad brings a wealth of experience, having served three terms as Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government and as the former APC State Organizing Secretary. The Governor also named Engr. Ahmad as Special Adviser on Works, signaling a renewed focus on infrastructure development. Governor Yusuf extends Service period to Kano HOS, Others

PRESS RELEASE  31st December 2024 Kano state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has extended the service period of Head of Civil Service, some Permanent Secretaries and Senior Civil Servants to the period of 2 years with effect from 31st December 2024. This was contained in an Executive Order signed by the Governor in accordance with the Doctrine of necessity. The decision of the governor is backed by the provision therein in section 5 (2) and 208 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended). Those to enjoy the 2 years extension are Alhaji Abdullahi Musa as the Head of Civil Service, Umar Muhammad Jalo, Bilkisu Shehu Maimota , Mu'azatu Isa Dutse, Abdulmuminu Musa, and Tijjani Muhammad Sharif as Permanent Secretaries while Bashir Idris Diso as the Clerk to the state House of Assembly. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has again, dismissed untowards perception on the recent cabinet reshuffle that affected the office of the Chief of Staff, Secretary to the State Government and Five Commissioners.  Addressing journalists Wednesday during the state executive council meeting held at Government house, Governor Yusuf specifically refuted political insinuation being attached to the major cabinet shake up.  In a state issued by Governor's spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, Governor Yusuf who used the opportunity to debunk misrepresentation of government action, insisted the rejig was taken in good faith and in the best interest of Kano.  " In recent times, we made some decisions in the administration, including cabinet reshuffle. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state on Friday joined his North West counterparts on advocacy meeting with the officials of United Nations in Abuja.  Those at the meeting along side Gov. Yusuf are Governors of Kaduna state, Uba Sani; Katsina state, Ummaru Dikko Radda; Jigawa state, Mohammad Namadi; Zamfara state, Dauda Lawan Dare and the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State who represented the Governor.
