CSC Approves Promotion of 48 Civil Servants in Kano
The Kano State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the promotion of 48 civil servants serving across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, the approval was granted during the Commission’s regular monthly sitting, where key administrative matters were deliberated upon, including promotion exercises, requests for transfer of service, and disciplinary issues.
Chairperson of the Commission, Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, explained that the Commission remains committed to ensuring that all its decisions strictly comply with the rules and regulations guiding the civil service. She noted that the promotion exercise followed due process and was based on merit and eligibility.
Hajiya Ladidi called on civil servants to uphold professionalism, maintain discipline, and adhere to established procedures in the discharge of their duties.
She warned that acts of misconduct and dishonesty will not be condoned, reiterating the Commission’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline.
She further advised officers seeking transfers or making related requests to always liaise with the Commission to fully understand the laid-down procedures before initiating any application.
The Chairperson also expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for its sustained support to the civil service and commitment to policies aimed at improving service delivery in the state.
Earlier, Commissioner I, Alhaji Abdullahi Mahmud Umar, and Commissioner II, Alhaji Ado Ahmad Muhammad, emphasized the need for dedication to duty and adherence to high ethical standards among civil servants.
In the same vein, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Sani Shehu Minjibir, reiterated the importance of understanding public service responsibilities, urging workers to continually enhance their knowledge of civil service rules and regulations.
He assured that the Commission remains steadfast in safeguarding the rights and welfare of civil servants.
The meeting was attended by members of the Commission as well as Directors.
