Gov. Yusuf, Others Eulogize Sheikh Jingir as JIBWIS Endorses Tinubu/Shettima for 2027

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside his counterparts from Yobe, Sokoto and Jigawa States, has commended the National Chairman of the Council of Ulama of Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’a Wa Iqamatussunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, for his sustained efforts toward promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and understanding among Muslims and Nigerians.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.

The governors made the commendation at a one-day National Symposium on “Enhanced Political Participation and Support for Social Justice as a Panacea for Unity and Development in Nigeria,” held at the Saddiqa Event Centre in Jos, Plateau State.

The symposium also witnessed a major political development, with JIBWIS calling on its members across the country to support and vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at the event, the National Chairman-Administration of JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdulnasir Abdulmuhuyi, expressed a vote of confidence in the Tinubu-Shettima administration, saying the Federal Government had demonstrated trustworthiness and commitment to the development of Nigeria during its first three years in office.

Sheikh Abdulmuhuyi said the administration deserved the support of Nigerians for a second term to consolidate its achievements and continue its development agenda.

In his address, the National Chairman of the JIBWIS Council of Ulama, Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir, urged members of the organisation across the country to renew their support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on behalf of the governors of Kano, Sokoto, Jigawa and Yobe States, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, recalled Nigeria’s political history, particularly the 1993 presidential election in which Chief MKO Abiola contested with a Muslim running mate, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe.

Governor Buni commended Sheikh Jingir for his tenacity and commitment to promoting national unity through his preaching, describing his efforts as important to fostering peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

In a goodwill message, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, declared that Nigerians could not afford to lose the Tinubu-Shettima administration in 2027.

Senator Barau also commended Sheikh Jingir for his tireless efforts toward promoting unity and peaceful coexistence across the country.

Meanwhile, Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari and Governor Mai Mala Buni each donated ₦300 million towards the establishment of Fortune University, founded by Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.

The symposium brought together prominent Islamic scholars, political leaders, government officials and JIBWIS members from across the country to deliberate on political participation, social justice, national unity and sustainable development in Nigeria.
