In a bid to enhance quality education, Kano State Government has sent powerful delegation for study tour to Kwara State on Learning Poverty Control Initiative (KWARALEARN). Kwara State, is one of the pioneering states in the implementation of the Learning Poverty Control Approach through the NewGlobe-supported KwaraLEARN initiative. Leading the delegation, the State Commissioner of Education Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda disclosed that the visit followed engagements by officials of the state ministry of education with the NewGlobe during the World Education Summit in May 2025 in London, where Nigeria's innovative responses to learning poverty were presented at the apex education summit. The Kano State School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) has commended the Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving the renovation of dilapidated structures at some schools, and establishment of new primary school in the state. The State SBMC Chairman Tijjani Haladu Baraya who was speaking in response to the state government approval, said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is demonstrating high sense of commitment towards revitalizing the education sector. He maintained that the effort made by the administration to renovate dilapidated schools especially Government Technical College Dambatta and Government Technical College Ungoggo comes at the right time when the schools are in need of serious interventions.
