Kano Governor Visits Namadi Over Tragic Loss of Mother and Son

Danmodi Appreciates Governor Yusuf’s Compassion Towards Jigawa People

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar, the mother of Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi Danmodi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar, and our dear son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, who died recently,” Governor Yusuf said in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.

Governor Yusuf extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family and relatives, noting that Hajiya Maryam’s death had left a void that would be difficult to fill.

Speaking about Abdulwahab’s sudden demise, the governor recounted how the devastating news came shortly after they had laid Hajiya Maryam to rest.

“While we were still mourning the loss of our dear mother, I was shocked to receive the heartbreaking news of our son’s untimely death,” Governor Yusuf said.

In a statement signed by the Director General Media and Publicity Kano Government House, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said the Governor described the tragic sequence of events, recalling how Abdulwahab had actively participated in his mother’s funeral.

“I was with him during the funeral. Together, we laid Hajiya Maryam to rest.

“He adjusted the grave and poured water over it. Later, he bid farewell to me and my entourage at the residence.

“A few hours later, I was informed of his death in a ghastly accident,” Governor Yusuf narrated.

He prayed to Allah to grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear the loss.

In his response, Governor Namadi expressed profound gratitude for Governor Yusuf’s support during this challenging time.

“I lack the words to express my appreciation for the compassion and support Governor Yusuf has shown to me and my family during these sorrowful days,” Governor Namadi said.

He reflected on the difficulty of losing both a mother and a first son in such quick succession but affirmed that life and death are decreed by Allah.

“No one departs this world before their time. Their time on earth had ended, and they answered the call of their Creator,” he said.

Governor Namadi praised Governor Yusuf’s magnanimity towards the family and the people of Jigawa, praying for Allah to reward him abundantly.
