ICPC Records Landmark ₦1.86 Billion from 2024 Asset Disposal — Highest Since Inception

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has achieved a major milestone in its asset disposal operations, realizing a total of ₦1,868,969,400.00 from the auction of 23 forfeited assets in 2024  the highest amount recorded since the Commission’s establishment. In a statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the Commission, Demola Bakare, said this achievement was announced during the 2025 meeting of the Asset Disposal Committee, following a report presented by the Proceeds of Crime Department (POCD).  The exercise was carried out in line with the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act (POCA) 2022, which empowers the Commission to recover, manage, and dispose of assets derived from illicit activities. AWDF, NBRRI Train Women, Youth in Construction Skills, Push Gender Inclusion

The Alice Wanny Development Foundation (AWDF), in collaboration with the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), has trained women and youths in construction-related skills. The two-day programme focused on tiling, flooring techniques, safety in construction, and entrepreneurship. Founder of AWDF, Alice Adamuje Owan, said the initiative seeks to break gender stereotypes and empower women beyond traditional trades. "Most women are trained in tailoring or catering. But the construction industry is growing, and we want women to benefit from it,” she said. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has been urged to construct a new road in Battawa closed in Nassarawa local government to ease and smooth passage. While acknowledging the state government efforts in renovation and construction of various roads within metropolitan, he urged the state government to also consider the reconstruction of Battawa closed. The resident of the area, Mr Husseini Jammal made the appeal while highlights some of the achievements recorded by the present administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf within short period.  He described the governor as a hardworking and well focused in transformation of the state. YSFON's Boss Gawuna announces 2025 President Tinubu national Peace Cup

The President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has officially announced the commencement of preparations for the 2nd Edition of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu National Peace Cup, a national U-18 Boys Peace Cup Soccer Tournament scheduled to take place in Katsina, Katsina State, from October 24th to November 1st, 2025. According to a circular issued by the YSFON National Headquarters and signed by the National Secretary, Mr. Patrick Okpavuerhe, entries are now open for all State YSFON teams across the federation. Each participating team is expected to consist of 20 players strictly under the age of 18 and three officials, one of whom must be a YSFON official.
