 Aminiya ta rawaito cewa Sarkin ya isa Kano da yammacin ranar Alhamis kuma an shirya masa liyafar maraba da zuwa gida sakamakon shawarwarin tsaro.


An dai shirya taron da ake sa ran zai tunkari mai martaba Sarkin wajen fitowar sa na farko a bainar jama'a tun bayan da aka dawo da shi kan karagar mulki.

Ana sa ran zai kasance a dakin taro na Africa House da ke gidan gwamnatin Kano domin gudanar da bikin karamar durbar da karfe 10 na safe, inda zai wuce fadar gidan Sarki na Nassarawa.


Daga nan ne Sarkin zai ci gaba da jagorantar sallar juma’a a babban masallacin Kano da ke fadar a kofar Kudu.

Breaking News: Gov Yusuf Reinstates Sanusi as 16th Emir of Kano

.... Issues 48 hours for former emirs to vacate palaces. 


Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has declared the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as 16th Emir of Kano state. 

Governor Yusuf also issued 48 hours to Aminu Ado Bayero and four other former first class chiefs to vacate the palace and hand over all emirates property to the office of the deputy Governor.

In a statement issued by the Governor's Spokesperson Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said Governor Yusuf made the declaration on Thursday shortly after assenting the newly passed Kano State Emirate (Repeal) bill into Law. 

The new law passed on Thursday by Kano state House of assembly has abolished the five emirates established by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The law provided an opportunity for reinstatement of the 14th Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II and removal of 15th Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi Nasir Ado Bayero, Emir of Rano Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, Emir of Karaye Ibrahim Abubakar II and Emir of Gaya Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir.

Governor Yusuf signed the bill into law in the presence of deputy governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, the Speaker of Kano State Assebly Right Hon. Ismail Falgore, and other top government functionaries.

While signing into law, the governor expressed satisfaction that the new law will bring unity of the people of Kano and foster sustainable socio-economic development.

Governor Yusuf further articulated that the return of Muhammad Sanusi II back on throne will propel peace and prosperity adding that the repeal of the council law was in realization of his campaign commitments to restore the lost glory of the state and its rich cultural heritage.

He emphasized that the signing of the bill symbolizes the restoration of the revered legacy of the Kano emirate, which has withstood the test of time of over a thousand years.

Furthermore, the governor urged the populace in the state to continue supporting his administration in delivering a multitude of infrastructural advancements that will propel Kano to greater heights.

"Everyone should go about his or her normal activities in the state, we have done what we believe is in the best interest of the state and its people"

"I want to inform the good people of Kano that today, we reappointed Sanusi Lamido Aminu Sanusi popularly known as Muhammadu Sanusi the II as the 16th Emir of Kano while the five former emirs are expected to vacate the palaces within 48 hours"

The former emirs are to handover all properties in thier possession to the Commissioner for Local Government who doubles as the state Deputy Governor.

Over Seven Hundred Gwarzo Residence Benefitted From Kano Medical Outreach Program.

The beneficiaries mostly vulnerable people were diagnosed and treated free of charge from various ailments like hepatitis,malaria,typhoid fever,ulcer and diabetes among others.

In a statement signed by Gwarzo Local Government Zonal Information Officer, Rabi'u Khalil, the interim management committee chairman Dr Mani Tsoho disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in his office.
Dr.Mani Tsoho added that the programme under the supervision of the office of special assistant to the governor on medical outreach Hon.Mahmoud Tajo Gaya has made a significant impact on the well-being of the people of Gwarzo local government.

He commended governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for fulfilling his campaign promises of giving utmost attention to health sector.
Dr.Mani Tsoho highlighted that preparations are on the pipeline for executing about ninety seven developmental projects in the area,among which is general renovation of Salihawa and Dankyandi primary schools,general renovation of local government Secretariat and completion of nomadic primary school Sara.

Others are repairs of vandalised electrical poles from Nasara petroleum station to. Rugoji to mainika and other various villages among others.
On his part the director personnel management Gwarzo local government urge people to cooperate,support and pray for governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in his effort of executing overall capital and human development projects in the state.


BREAKING: Kano Assembly dissolves 4 emirates created by Ganduje

The Kano State House of Assembly has repealed the Kano Emirates Council Law 2019, thereby dissolving the Emirates of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano.


Daily News reports that the Assembly repealed the Emirates Law on Thursday during its plenary session amidst tight security.


It is understood that the assembly is expected to submit the decision to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for assent.


There are speculations that the dissolution of the four Emirates was done to pave way for the return of deposed 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi.

Already, the current Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayeo and his Bichi counterpart Nasiru Ado Bayero have travelled out of the state.


Recall that Mr Sanusi was dethroned in March 2020 by former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, following a protracted political dispute.


Mr Ganduje had then created the four new Emirates to reduce the influence of the Once powerful Kano Emirate.

Kano State Govt. Set Up Committee To Look Into Mass Failure In Qualifying Exam

Kano State Government has established a committee to investigate the mass failure in the recently concluded qualifying examinations for Senior Secondary Schools.

A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment Ministry of Education Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru explained that the committee's terms of reference include determining the extent of the examination failures, examining the causes of the mass failure, and assessing whether there was compliance with the established procedures for releasing the results. 

The statement added that the Committee will look into how the private students participate in the examination.

" It is also part of the Committee's responsibility to advise the government on whether to continue with the examination process or otherwise " said the statement.

According to the statement, the committee which has been given one week to submit its report, will be chaired by Alhaji Tajuddeen Gambo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education and former Commissioner of Education.

Other Members of the committee include the Executive Secretary, Kano State Senior Secondary School Management Board, Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai, the Executive Secretary, Private and Voluntary Schools Board, Alhaji Baba Umar, Special Adviser to the Governor on Students' Matters, Comrade Nura Iro Ma'aji, Director, Kano Educational Resources Department (KERD) Hajiya Rabi Inuwa Hussain, former Director, Kano Educational Resources Department Dr. Rabiu Mijinyawa, While Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Girl Child Education, Hajiya Hafsat Adahama will serve as Secretary. 


Hajj 2024: Over Four Thousand Nigerian Pilgrims Arrives Makkah - NAHCON

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has confirmed that as at Tuesday this week, about five thousand Nigerian pilgrims have arrived the holy City of Makkah, after their four day stay in the holy Prophet City of Madinah. 

The pilgrims were made up of those from Kebbi, Nasarawa States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja who were the first to arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year's Hajj operation that started last week.

The NAHCON Makkah Coordinator, Dr. Aliyu Abubakar Tanko disclosed this to Freedom Radio Group, Kaduna Station from Makkah.

The Coordinator, who said that all the pilgrims that have arrived were hearty, healthy and all and about without stress, as most of them performed the lesser Hajj and now are only waiting for the actual greater annual religious event, which is expected to commence in next three weeks.

Dr. Aliyu Tanko stated that as usual all necessary infrastructure and measures have been put in place to ensure peace, harmony, tranquility and comfort of Nigerian pilgrims in Makkah, which is a pre-requisit to a seamless, smooth and hitch free Hajj exercise.

He said when his team arrived the holy land days before the commencement of the airlift, they visited the Nigerian Consulate in Jeddah to rob minds with the Consul-General and staff on how best they could team up and chart a diligent course to serve the Nigerian pilgrims effectively and satisfactorily to make them have a pleasant memorable and unforgettable experience in the discharge of their religious rites.

Dr. Aliyu Tanko, reported that they have been told in no uncertain terms that this year the Saudi authorities have resolved to decisively deal and deny entry to Makkah, anyone without genuine and relevant Hajj visas.

He therefore advised states Hajj handlers to ensure thoroughness and diligence in the travel documents of their pilgrims to guard against any unpleasantries.

Kano Govt. Moves to Strengthen Ties with NAFDAC

Kano state government has reaffirmed its determination to provide qualitative and affordable healthcare services to the teeming populace.

This was disclosed by Director General, Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency, Pharm. Gali Sule today when the management of the agency paid a working visit to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Farouk Isa Musa, Pharmacist Gali Sule said they were at NAFDAC office to seek for more collaboration with the federal regulatory agency with purpose of devising ways and means to, healthwise, further safeguard the people in the state.

Speaking further, the DG emphasized that the state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, will not compromise in ensuring its resolve to build and sustain a healthy society.

Responding, the NAFDAC State Coordinator, Alh. Kasim Idrisa Ibrahim pledged to work closely with the Kano DMCSA so as to achieve the desired objective.

The Coordinator stressed that NAFDAC remains committed to transparency and integrity in all its endeavours, adding that as a sister government agency, NAFDAC will always be ready to collaborate with DMCSA.

Speaking during the visit, the Director Drugs and Supply of DMCSA, Pharm. Tukur Ibrahim commended NAFDAC for its sisterly support to his agency, pledging continuous cooperation.

Kano: Gov. Yusuf Mulls Partnership with Neitherland Government on Food Security, Climate Change

Kano state governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has sought for a diplomatic support of the Kingdom of Neitherlands to accelerate agricultural production and mitigation on the impact of climate change in the state. 

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed the proposed diplomatic synergy with the Dutch government on Tuesday when he played host to Ms Eva De Wit, First Secretary Migration at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Neitherlands in Nigeria. 

A statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the spokesperson to the Governor, said Governor Yusuf emphasized the impact driven landmark the Kingdom has recorded on agriculture and climate change in Europe. 

According to the release, Governor Yusuf who was passionate with the astronomical rate of agricultural development in Neitherland, expressed his administration's willingness to cement partnership for replication of the recipe in Kano. 

Yusuf has taken the opportunity of the diplomatic visit to roll out some of the initiative anchored by his administration to refocus the productivity of youth population in Kano and food security. 

While intimating the Dutch delegation the level of devastating indices of drug abuse inherited from the immediate past administration, Governor Yusuf said 24 skill acquisition centres have been reopened to gainfully empower the youth. 

Yusuf added that his government has also reformed and rehabilitated about 713 youth who engaged themselves in thuggery activities through concerted collaboration with the Nigerian Police to curb restiveness in the state. 

On her part, Ms De Wit who was also accompanied by the Chief of Mission, International Organization for Migration, Mr. Laurent De Boeck pledged to collaborate with Kano state government in the areas of youth empowerment, food security and climate change.

NSCDC rescues 13 victims of human trafficking in Kano

The Kano State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has rescued 13 victims of human trafficking, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports.

The State Commandant of the corps, Mohammed Lawal-Falala, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Kano.

Lawal-Falala, disclosed that the victims were rescued on May 20, at Dan Tsinke Quarters in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, we received an information that a man keeps young female children in his house and traffick them to Cameroon to seek for greener pasture.

”On receiving the information, a special surveillance was coordinated by the corps operatives attached to Tarauni Division and the victims were rescued.”

He also disclosed that one suspect was arrested by the operatives of the corps for keeping the victims in his house, while the two prime suspects were still at large.

He explained that the rescued victims included five women, three female children, a boy and four men.

“The rescued victims were on their way to Maiduguri enroute to Cameroon for labour exploitation.

“Out of the 13 victims, 10 are from Kano, while three are from Jigawa State” Lawal-Falala said

The commandant said that the victims would be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), for necessary action.

He called on residents in the state to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the command would continue to ensure a crime-free and safe state.

He called on parents to protect their wards from being exploited and lured into slavery in the name of seeking greener pasture.

Similarly, the corps also said that it has arrested one suspect, who specialises in stealing tricycle and handsets.

Lawal-Falala said the operatives of the corps arrested the suspect on May 20, in Kano Metropolis.

“Several people have been coming to the command to lodge complaint against the suspect on tricycle theft”, he said.

He said that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

Meanwhile speaking to newsmen, the suspect said that he normally disguises as if he has fracture on his leg tied with bandage and board any a tricycle with his friends.

“Me and my friends will charter a tricycle and on reaching our destination, we will divert the tricyclist and use our key to steal it.

“I have stolen four tricycle. We take them to Katsina State and sell”, the suspect said.
