1st Anniversary: Gov. Yusuf To Declare State of Emergency On elEducation, Tuesday

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, is poised to declare a state of emergency in the education sector, aiming to expedite efforts to enhance the delivery of educational services and ensure to quality education for all in Kano.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor's spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Sunday.

The Governor, who is set to declare the state of emergency on Tuesday, has said that it is in fulfillment of one of his crucial campaign promises outlined in his document titled "My Commitment for Kano," which was formulated and presented to the public in 2022, ahead of the 2023 elections.

"The declaration of a state of emergency in education is intended to hasten actions in delivering services to guarantee access to quality education for all in Kano,"

"Concerned about the deteriorating state of the education sector, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is prepared to declare a state of emergency in education in order to expedite a comprehensive overhaul of the sector and propose a definitive solution to the current challenges in higher, secondary, and primary education." The statement said.

The forthcoming event will convene all pertinent stakeholders in the field of education, including development partners, state and federal agencies, as well as esteemed dignitaries such as the Minister of Education, governors from other states, members of the academic community, and representatives from the media.

Scheduled to take place on Tuesday, the 4th of June, 2024, at the open arena of the Government House in Kano, the event will be broadcast on Channels TV and various local stations.

Abdulmumin Kofa Provides Financial Support To Pilgrims In Heartfelt Farewell

In a heartwarming display of community support, the Member representing Kiru and Bebeji Federal Constituency, Abdulmumim Kofa, visited the Aminu Kano International Airport to bid farewell to the intending pilgrims from his constituency.

During his visit, he extended a generous donation to the pilgrims, ensuring that all on the same flight benefited from his kindness.
On Saturday the 1st June 2024, the Aminu Kano International Airport departure Hall, was abuzz with the excitement and anticipation of pilgrims preparing for their spiritual journey to Mecca. The atmosphere was further uplifted by the presence of Abdulmumim Kofa, who arrived to personally send off the pilgrims from Kiru and Bebeji.

Addressing the gathering, Kofa expressed his heartfelt wishes for a safe and fulfilling pilgrimage. "It is a great honor to support our community members as they embark on this sacred journey. May your pilgrimage be accepted, and may you return home safely," he said.
In a remarkable act of generosity, Jarma of Bebeji donated a significant amount of money to the pilgrims. This donation was not limited to the constituents of Kiru and Bebeji but extended to all pilgrims on the same flight. This gesture ensured that every individual on board received financial support, easing their journey's logistical and financial burdens.
The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for Kofa's support. Many highlighted how the donation would assist them in managing their expenses during the pilgrimage, enhancing their overall experience. "This support means a lot to us. It shows that our representative genuinely cares for our welfare," said one of the pilgrims.

Bauchi Hajj Camp, Unstoppable Among More- NAHCON Head

The chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi has described Bauchi ultra-modern Sultan Saad Abubakar Hajj Camp constructed by the State Government led by Governor Bala Mohammed as unbeatable among other camps across the Nigerian federation.

Arabi was speaking when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Ultra Modern Hajji Transit Camp in Bauchi yesterday in order to see for himself the nature of the edifice. 

He acknowledged the contribution of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad towards the well being of intending pilgrims, also describing it as one of the best in the country. 

On the 2024 hajj exercise, the
NAHCON boss also called on states pilgrims welfare board whose pilgrims are yet to be flown to Saudi Arabia for this year’s pilgrimage to ensure speedy bringing them out to the designated airports for their journey to the Holy Land.

The Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON who made the plea said, “We wish the states that are remaining now will bring out their pilgrims in time, so that there is no waiting time for the aircrafts on the tarmac waiting for the pilgrims to come.” 

Jalal Arabi noted that Governor Bala Abdulkadir is a patriotic human being, and prayed Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly for the building of a befitting Hajj pilgrims transit camp for the state.

“I am not surprised to say that this is what I call an elder brother. I know his capacity, I know his capability, but most importantly I know his patriotism. I know how he takes things, just as he respects other beliefs, but seeing this edifice confirms what I have for him, so I don’t take anything less from him than near perfection”, he said.

Arabi also congratulated the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for timely and successful airlift of all its 2024 intending pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within a very short period without any hitches.

Executive Secretary Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris has earlier expressed his happiness for the visit, saying the visit is an honour to Bauchi State.

On the secret behind the successful airlift of Bauchi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris attributed it to early preparation and securing visa on time.
