FG Highlights Public Enlightenment as Key to Strengthening Accountability in Public Service

The Federal Government has reaffirmed that sustained public enlightenment is vital to advancing the mandate of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in promoting accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct across Nigeria’s public service. According to the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister, Rabi'u Ibrahim,said this position was reiterated by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, and his delegation to the Ministry in Abuja. CSC Approves Promotion of 48 Civil Servants in Kano

The Kano State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the promotion of 48 civil servants serving across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state. In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, the approval was granted during the Commission’s regular monthly sitting, where key administrative matters were deliberated upon, including promotion exercises, requests for transfer of service, and disciplinary issues. Chairperson of the Commission, Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, explained that the Commission remains committed to ensuring that all its decisions strictly comply with the rules and regulations guiding the civil service. The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to modernising public media and ensuring that no Nigerian is left uninformed, as the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) marks its 75th anniversary. Speaking on Wednesday at the logo unveiling ceremony held at Radio House, Abuja, to kick off activities commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the FRCN, the Minister highlighted ongoing reforms, noting that the Tinubu administration is investing in infrastructure to strengthen public broadcasting. “With new 50-kilowatt medium-wave transmitters in Kaduna, Ibadan, Enugu, and Gwagwalada, FRCN will soon extend its leadership voice in Nigeria’s vast radio landscape. Plateau Killings: SCSN Demands Action, Says “Enough of Condemnation”

The Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria (SCSN) has strongly condemned the recent killing of innocent citizens in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable. In a press statement issued on April  1, 2026, and signed by its Secretary General, Nafiu Baba Ahmad, the Council expressed deep outrage over the attack and called on authorities to move beyond routine condemnations to decisive action. The Council noted that the repeated cycle of violence followed by mere statements from authorities has become insufficient, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government at all levels.
