GEEP Seeks Partnership with NIMC, SMEDAN to Strengthen Support for SMEs and Farmers

The National Programme Manager of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), Mr. Hamza Baba, paid a courtesy visit to the Director‑General, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engineer Abisoye Coker, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja. Mr. Baba also met with the Director‑General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Dr. Charles ODII, to explore areas of collaboration and formal partnership. In a statement signed by the Director Public Relations of the Program, Attari Hope, said the meeting with NIMC focused on strengthening beneficiary identification, registration and verification for GEEP target groups — market women, traders, artisans and smallholder farmers across the country. Battawa closed Resident calls on Gov Yusuf to construct a new road

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has been urged to construct a new road in Battawa closed in Nassarawa local government to ease and smooth passage. While acknowledging the state government efforts in renovation and construction of various roads within metropolitan, he urged the state government to also consider the reconstruction of Battawa closed. The resident of the area, Mr Husseini Jammal made the appeal while highlights some of the achievements recorded by the present administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf within short period.  He described the governor as a hardworking and well focused in transformation of the state. Mr Jammal also used the opportunity to called on the people of the state to continue to rally round the present administration in order to actualize their set objectives.

YSFON's Boss Gawuna announces 2025 President Tinubu national Peace Cup

The President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has officially announced the commencement of preparations for the 2nd Edition of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu National Peace Cup, a national U-18 Boys Peace Cup Soccer Tournament scheduled to take place in Katsina, Katsina State, from October 24th to November 1st, 2025. According to a circular issued by the YSFON National Headquarters and signed by the National Secretary, Mr. Patrick Okpavuerhe, entries are now open for all State YSFON teams across the federation. Each participating team is expected to consist of 20 players strictly under the age of 18 and three officials, one of whom must be a YSFON official. Teams are expected to arrive in Katsina on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, with screening of players scheduled to commence by 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24th, 2025, at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina. ...Suspended Members Engaging Thugs, Creating Confusion The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has strongly disowned and condemned the purported election set to be organised in Lagos by suspended members of the association, describing it as illegal, null and void, and a deliberate act of sabotage against the integrity of the body. The NEC said the only intention of the suspended members of the association is to create confusion, wondering why they leverage the use of thugs to create confusion while colluding with illegal security operatives.
