The proprietor of Junior Dan Buram (JDB) Football Club of Daura, Katsina state, Alhaji Daha Umar Faruk has expressed optimism that his team will emerge victorious at the end of the on-going 3rd edition of Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima soccer competition. He was speaking shortly after his team beat Sheshe FC 2-1 to secure a place in the quarter final stage played at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata. Alhaji Daha Umar Faruk, who was also the District Head of Baure, described the performance of his players and the victory recorded in the match as commendable. In a bold reaction to insinuations that the APC is planning to manipulate the 2027 elections in Kano, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has vowed to resist any pressure on his mandate. Speaking during the monthly women empowerment program at Coronation Hall yesterday, the Governor emphasized that he is not worried about the 2027 elections, as leadership is ordained by the Almighty Allah. Governor Yusuf set to distribute N3b for flood victims in Kano

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has completed arrangements to flag off distribution of three billion naira (N3b) to victims of flood in last rainy season in the affected areas. Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this while declaring opened the 23rd State Executive Council Meeting held at Kano Government House today. A statement issued by Governor's spokesperson Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday said, Governor Yusuf revealed that the amount was donated by the Federal Government to the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory as intervention for the 2024 flood disaster. The governor further revealed that the money was remitted to the state treasury few months ago in preparation for onward distribution the the affected victims. Schools Resumption: Monitoring Teams Report Good Turn Out of Teachers, Students in Kano

As Primary and Post Primary Schools resumed today Monday 6th January for the commencement of second term 2025 academic session in Kano, schools monitoring teams have reported good turn out of teachers and students from the various schools visited. A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment Kano State Ministry of Education Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru explained that teachers, students and pupils were met present in most of the schools as early as 7:30am. " From the report we have, the turn out of both teachers and students is satisfactory, schools have opened as early as 7:30am - 8:00am with absenteeism recorded in few schools.
